A new exciting agency find its way home to Audioprophile. This time it is the critically aclaimed speaker manufacturer Mark & Daniel that finds its way to Sweden via Audioprophile.
Mark & Daniel Audio Labs has designed and manufactured high-end audio products since 2004, specializing in R&D for sound drivers and speaker systems with the goal of creating systems capable of tru hi-fi reproduction. Through their work, Mark & Daniel has overcome three primary restrictions in the development of hi-fi speaker systems today.
1. A too narrow operating bandwith for the tweeters
2. Insufficient driver dynamics for the woofers
3. Inability to eliminate Frequency Modulated Distorsion
One of the biggest keys to solve these parameters is the use of Air Motion Transformers which can handle frequencies down to 800-1000Hz. This relieves the woofer from frequencies it is not optimized to handle and at the same time eliminates crossover in a frequency range where the ear is most sensitive.
The Air Motion Transformers construction is also superior to conventional drivers in more aspects. The area an Air Motion Transformer uses to reproduce soundwaves is many times bigger than a conventional driver and the acceleration of the air is many times more efficient than a conventional driver where the ratio is a mere 1:1.
The woofer of Mark & Daniel speakers is also of high technology. The construction includes Neodymium magnets which are a lot more powerful than normal ferrit magnets. The woofers are designed to create a very long Neodymium magnetfield which makes the woofer capable of larger excursions without the introduction of distortion.
The casing is also of the exclusive kind. No MDF or wood is used, instead all speakers are made of marble compound. This material is very heavy and rigid which gives the speakers the best environment to achieve the highest performance. It also gives the speakers an elegant look that can be provided in many different colors.
